Pixlr-o-matic is an awesome online photo editor with which you can apply eye-catching effects to your images and turn them into pieces of art.
Created by the same developer as the Pixlr Editor, Pixlr-o-matic is designed with simplicity and ease of use in mind. After loading an image from your hard drive or any URL, Pixlr-o-matic takes you through three steps: the first one lets you choose among a bunch of filters which change the image’s overall tone and light; the second one includes a wide variety of special effects, such as raindrops, scratches, glaring lights and so on; and finally the third and last step adds the final touch with a custom frame or border for your image.
Pixlr-o-matic displays a preview of the image at all times, so that you can see the effect of any chosen filter or effect right away. When you’re done, you can either upload the image to the imm.io online photo gallery, or save it to your hard drive. Unfortunately Pixlr-o-matic doesn't feature integration with other photo services (such as Flickr or Picasa) nor with social networks.
Despite those minor flaws, Pixlr-o-matic is still a great photo editing app. It’s nicely designed, easy enough for everyone to use and enables you to obtain great results in just a few minutes.
